Michael Ricchiuti, 16, son of Anthony and Lori Ricchiuti of Boardman, has received his Eagle Scout Award, Boy Scouting’s highest honor, at a court-of-honor ceremony at St. Charles Church, Boardman.
Michael joined Troop 60 in 2005 at Westminister Church. Scoutmaster is Byron Harnishfeger.
He has earned the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouts National Honor Society, Pope Pius X11 Catholic Religious Award, World Conservation, Seven Ranges Scout Reservation Fifth-year pipestone, and multiple 50-mile hike, bike and canoe awards.
For his Eagle Scout service project, Michael designed, coordinated and constructed a bridge spanning a drainage ditch on West Newport Hiking Trail in Mill Creek Park.
The new bridge is 22 feet long and 5 feet wide with handrails on both sides. This bridge is located on West Newport Drive, north of the swamp parking lot.
LAWYERS
Lennie B. Sliwinski received his juris doctorate degree recently from Cornell University Law School in Ithaca, N.Y., with a concentration in business law and regulation and was on the university’s dean’s list.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in business pre-law at Bowling Green State University, cum laude. He is a 2004 Poland Seminary High School graduate. Upon passing his bar exam, he will be practicing in Austin, Texas.
He is the son of Lenny and Maria Sliwinski of Poland, grandson of Leo and Ana Rivera of Campbell, and the late Leonard an Regina Sliwinski of Campbell.
Laura K. McDevitt Codopony of Norman, Okla., formerly of Salem, has earned her juris doctorate law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. She also earned a certificate in American Indian law.
A daughter of Cheryl and William McDevitt of Salem, she is married to Richard Codopony. She is a 2002 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2005.
McDevitt Codopony is joining the firm of Hobbs, Straus, Dean and Walker in Oklahoma City.

Raquel Morales, daughter of Roberto and Lisette Morales of Canfield, has graduated with a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Findlay College of Pharmacy.
She was one of 10 students in the country to be selected this year to serve as a pharmacist in the Army and will be stationed in Augusta, Ga.
Morales received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Findlay and was a previous recipient of local scholarships from Latinas United Networking Association, Organizacion Civica y Cultural Hispana Americana and the Spanish Evangelical Church.
DOCTORS
Three area residents have received their doctor of osteopathic medicine from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
They are Janeen Masternick of Boardman, Keith Black of Southington, and Virginia Mateo-Factor, formerly of Hermitage, Pa.
Dr. Masternick is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Masternick of Boardman. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in 2007 and is a graduate of Boardman High School.
Dr. Masternick begins a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency this summer at MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland.
Dr. Black is the son of Charles and Linda Black of Southington. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Walsh University in 2007 and is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Warren.
He begins an internal-medicine residency at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren this summer.
Dr. Mateo-Factor, now of Shaker Heights, is the daughter of Dr. Gilda Mateo of Hermitage, Pa., and Dr. Francisco Mateo of Poland.
Dr. Mateo-Factor earned a bachelor’s degree from Hiram College in 2007 and is a graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, Pa.
This summer, she begins a family-practice residency at South Pointe Hospital in Cleveland.
