GRADUATES’ NEWS


Willie G. Fant Sr. earned an associate degree in biblical studies from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. The Rev. Mr. Fant is minister at Fellowship Tabernacle Christian Center in Youngstown.

Allison L. Begezda of Poland graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., with a master’s degree in publishing. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in 2009 and graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 2005. The daughter of Dr. Stephen and Diane Begezda of Poland, she is an editorial coordinator for a research journal in Washington, D.C., and is a mentor through the Coaching for College program.

Fred J. Jordan II of Boardman has announced the graduation of his wife, FloEtta Jordan, from Southern Bible Institute & Seminary of Augusta, Ga. She graduated summa cum laude with a doctorate in theology. Mrs. Jordan started her biblical education in 1992 through the Evangelical Training Association at The New Bethel Baptist Church, where she serves as an associate minister. While attending S.B.I.S., she also earned her associate’s degree in theology, magna cum laude; her bachelor’s degree in theology, magna cum laude; and her master’s degree in theology, summa cum laude. Mrs. Jordan is the daughter of Geraline and the late Floyd McDuffie Jr. of Youngstown.

The Rev. Judy Alston Eiland graduated from Anderson University School of Theology in Anderson, Ind., with a master’s degree in theological studies. She will pursue her doctorate at Youngstown State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in social work and English. She is an associate minister at Simon Road Church of God in Boardman. She and her husband, Lee, live in Boardman.

Dominic Scarnecchia of Poland graduated from Villa-nova University in Villanova, Pa., during a commencement ceremony at Villanova Stadium.

Ron and Jane Midgley of Boardman have announced the graduation of their daughter Kirsten Joan, who graduated summa cum laude from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, with an academic scholarship. Joan was on the dean’s list all eight semesters and was awarded the James T. Dove Scholarship. She was a member of several honorary Greek societies, including Phi Beta Kappa. She has been accepted to Georgetown Medical School in Washington, D.C. Before leaving, she will study abroad for the second time in Lesotho, South Africa, with a group from Wittenberg as part of an annual community service program. She is a 2007 Canfield High School graduate.
