Ministries program

The Youngstown Chapter of Igniting New Life Ministries International, an inter-denominational ministry, will host guest speaker Patty Scahill at a meeting July 18 in the multipurpose room at Boardman Township Park.
Schaill is the author of several Christian books and a conference speaker.
Fellowship will begin at 6 p.m. with the ministry at 6:30.
Men’s Day event

Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., will celebrate its annual Men’s Day weekend beginning with a banquet at 4 p.m. today in S.P. Phillips Fellowship Hall at the church.
Tickets are $15.
Guest speaker will be Dr. Connie Hathorn, superintendent of Youngstown schools.
A worship service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday with the message by Dr. Kelvin E. Turner, former pastor of Tabernacle and current senior pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Va. The theme is “Brethren in Unity.”

New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., will host the Ohio Baptist General Convention from July 18-21 with the theme ”Solidarity with the Saviour.”
An opening musical celebration will be at 6 p.m. July 17 with the theme, ”An Evening in White.” The program will feature the Harambee Dances, New Bethel choirs, God’s Will, community leaders and elected officials.
The Rev. Stephen D. Sullivan is convention president; the Rev. Kenneth Simon is host pastor. The convention has five districts, Eastern, Northern, Northwestern, Providence and Western with 130 churches. Officers are Deacon James Coleman, laymen; Dr. Mary J. Cotton, women; minister Charles Newman, youth; and Dr. Oliver L. Williams, Congress of Christian education.

“SpiriTed, a visitation from Jonathan & Janet,” is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave.
The church will host columnist/humorist Jonathan Richard Cring, and artist/musician Janet Clazzy, who will present music and monologue including comedic and inspirational essays from Cring’s national daily column with original musical tunes played by Clazzy.
A free-will offering will be taken and copies of books and CDs will be available for purchase.

Peniel Holiness Camp Meeting is planned for July 21-31 with a concert by the Keeling Family at 7:30 p.m. the first day.
Services at the interdenominational camp will be at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 and 7 p.m. when camp is in session.
