Survey to help determine Trumbull drug, alcohol prevention programs
WARREN — Some 800 Trumbull County residents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions about alcohol, tobacco, other drug use and gambling among teenagers and adults in their community.
Starting next week, the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board and the Minnesota Institute of Public Health will conduct a survey of adult attitudes about youth behavior.
The Community Readiness Survey, developed in Minnesota, judges community readiness to change alcohol, tobacco, other drug use and gambling-related attitudes and practices. This is the second time this survey has been conducted in the county.
A cover letter will be sent Monday to randomly selected residents. A week later, on July 18, the surveys will be mailed.
The document takes about 20 minutes to complete and includes a self-addressed, stamped envelope for easy return. As a bonus, those who are selected for the survey also will receive a $3 Dairy Queen gift card.
The surveys are paid for by the Ohio Department of Drug and Alcohol Services’ Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant.
The data collected will be used to plan county drug and alcohol prevention programs.
