OSHP seizes 13 pounds of suspected marijuana from impaired driver

CLEVELAND — A man driving impaired is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 13 pounds of suspected marijuana, worth nearly $30,000, during a traffic stop Thursday in Cuyahoga County.

Troopers from the Medina Post stopped a 2006 Hummer for a speed violation on Interstate 90 in the city about 9 p.m. Upon contact with the driver, the odor of marijuana was present. A probable-cause search revealed 13 bundles of suspected marijuana, each weighing a pound.

The driver, Jamall Harris, 32, of Cleveland Heights, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired, and trafficking in marijuana, a third-degree felony.

Harris was incarcerated in the Cuyahoga County Justice Center. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
