Portion of Western Reserve Road to be closed for widening

YOUNGSTOWN — Closing a portion of Western Reserve Road is the fastest, most- effective way to do necessary construction work, said Mahoning County Engineer Richard Marsico.

Western Reserve, between Tippecanoe Road and the state Route 11 bridge over state Route 46, will be closed for 45 days beginning Monday and ending Aug. 25.

The closure was approved today by the county commissioners at their weekly meeting.

Marsico said the work is a part of a $4 million, yearlong construction project to widen the entire road.
