UK companies pull ads from News of the World
LONDON (AP) — Several companies are hastily pulling ads from the British tabloid News of the World amid public disgust at allegations its employees hacked into the cell phones of missing schoolgirls and victims’ families in London’s 2005 transit attacks. Virgin Holidays said today it has canceled several ads due to run in the Sunday newspaper this week. Car makers Ford UK and Vauxhall and Halifax bank also said they have suspended advertising in the tabloid.
