McBride House open Sunday

HUBBARD

The Hubbard Historical Society’s McBride House, on Hager Street, will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday for guided tours or browsing. Admission is free. Barbara Emch’s book “Hubbard” will be available for $19.99, and other items are on sale at reduced prices.

A commemorative postcard featuring the city schools that soon will be replaced by an educational campus will be available for a small donation.

Balloon Quest

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Local hot-air-balloon pilots and the Union Township Volunteer Fire Department will host Western Pennsylvania Balloon Quest from 4 to 11 p.m. July 13-15 and from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 16 and 17 at Scotland Meadows Park, 304 S. Scotland Lane.

Twenty-two hot-air balloons will be launched. Other activities include amusement rides, crafts, food, live entertainment, tethered balloon rides, stat medevac medical helicopter demonstration and fireworks. A schedule of events is available atwpaballoonquest.webs.com.

Doggie reunion

CANFIELD

Angels for Animals will host its sixth annual Doggie Daze Reunion and Adopt-A-Thon on July 16.

The Adoption Center, 4750 W. South Range Road, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the event. All dogs are welcome, and everyone with an Angels dog will receive a special gift bag full of goodies. The event is free, but a $5 donation or a KONG toy for the Angels shelter dogs will be asked.
