Driver in fatal Va. bus crash due in court


BOWLING GREEN, Va. (AP) — A driver for a discount bus service whose bus crashed on Interstate 95 in Virginia, killing four people and injuring others, will appear in court.

Kin Yiu Cheung is scheduled to appear in Caroline County court today. The 37-year-old from New York is charged with four felony counts of involuntary manslaughter in the May crash. Those killed were four adult females from New York, Philadelphia and New Jersey.

A grand jury also is set to hear the charges today. Cheung also is charged with misdemeanor reckless driving.

Court records show Cheung admitted to police that he fell asleep at the wheel when the Sky Express bus bound for New York overturned north of Richmond with 60 people aboard.

Cheung is being held without bond at Pamunkey Regional Jail.
