Tuition hike on agenda for University of Pittsburgh trustees

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The University of Pittsburgh Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet Friday, and a tuition increase may be discussed.

The state budget adopted last week reduced aid to campuses by 19 percent, and Temple University has already increased its tuition by nearly 10 percent.

Tuition and fees for state residents attending the University of Pittsburgh increased from $12,138 in the 2006-07 year to a projected $14,936 for the 2010-11 year, according to the school.
