Truck rolls on and kills driver

North Jackson

The driver of a semi truck died Tuesday afternoon when his own truck rolled over him, after he had been ejected from the cabin.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Raymond Barnum, 43, of Geneva, Ohio, lost control of the truck at 1:44 p.m. while driving south on Lipkey Road, Jackson Township.

The truck swerved to both sides of the road before hitting a guard rail. The impact tossed Barnum from the vehicle onto the pavement where the semi rolled on top of him.

Authorities pronounced Barnum dead at the scene.

The patrol is still investigating what caused the driver to lose control.
