Honor a cancer patient
An ongoing UPMC Horizon Community Health Foundation fundraiser offers a way to honor cancer patients while helping current cancer patients.
For a $10 donation, a cancer patient may be remembered on a personalized tiki torch to be displayed at the foundation’s Attitudes and Latitudes Luau on Aug. 20 at Oak Tree Country Club in Shenango Township, Pa. Tiki torch order forms are available at the UPMC facilities in Farrell and Greenville, Pa.
Checks may be made payable to the UPMC Horizon Community Health Foundation and mailed, along with the form, to the attention of the foundation at 2200 Memorial Drive, Farrell, PA 16121.

The doors open at 5:15 p.m.

Help a child
Hospice of the Valley and the Big Reach Center of Hope have joined forces for a program, “Help a Child.”
The goal is to make the first day of school a good experience by providing each child with new clothing and supplies.
Those who sign up will receive a packet containing a child’s age, shirt size, pant size, underwear size, and shoe and sock size.
Participants may have more than one packet.
To receive your packet, call Liz McGarry, director of development/marketing, Hospice of the Valley, at 330-788-1992, or email her at Liz_McGarry@HMIS.org.
