Facing drug charges

Facing drug charges

youngstown

Wilson D. Taylor, 30, of the 3000 block of Oregon Ave., will appear at 10 a.m. today in Youngstown Municipal Court on charges of drug abuse — controlled substance, possession or use, after police arrested him in an incident about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police were called to an address on West Hylda in reference to a large fight. A cruiser approached east on West Florida, one block south of the fight. Police saw Taylor running west on Florida and observed him throw items on the ground behind a tree on the devil strip. Police detained Taylor and found one plastic bag with 4 grams of crack cocaine and one with 2.5 grams of marijuana. Taylor told police he was running because he thought someone was going to shoot him. He was in Mahoning County jail Monday.
