Boater remains missing after western Pa. accident

CONFLUENCE, Pa. (AP) — A boater remains missing after an accident on a western Pennsylvania river over the weekend.

Authorities in Fayette County say the boat was carrying four people on the Youghiogheny River when it flipped over while making a fast turn at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

Several passengers were treated for injuries. But rescue crews have been searching for one man who has been missing since the accident; his name has not been released.

Confluence fire Chief Tom Close Jr. said today that the man remained missing. Close says the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission and Army Corps of Engineers are leading the investigation.
