The event takes place indoors. Proceeds will go toward repairs of the roof over the educational wing of the building.

Shredding, anyone?

NEW MIDDLETOWN

The village invites the public to bring documents for free shredding from 10 a.m. to noon July 16 behind the Village Administration Building at 10711 Main Street (state Route 170).

This is the second year council is sponsoring the event, which is aimed at helping to prevent identity theft. Village Police Chief Vince D’Egidio said that disposing of credit-card accounts, bank statements and other documents in the trash could result in identity theft because criminals go through garbage to obtain such identifying numbers.

In addition to paper documents, computer disks and credit cards will be shredded.

For more information, call the village offices at 330-542-2846.
