Wilthews mark 60th anniversary on June 23

CANFIELD

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilthew of Canfield marked their 60th wedding anniversary on June 23. A fall celebration is planned when their children will visit the area.

Hosting the celebration will be their two sons and daughter. Their children are Robert and Lois Wilthew Jr. of Ridgefield, Wash.; Scott and Kay Wilthew of Mason, Mich.; and Melissa (Wilthew) and Rick Tanferno of Medina, Ohio.

The Wilthews have two grandsons, Christopher and Connor, of Medina.

Mr. Wilthew retired in 1990 as president of Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling, Ill. He worked in the steel industry the majority of his career, starting out at Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. He is an Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean War.

Mrs. Wilthew is a homemaker.

The Wilthews have traveled extensively during their retirement.

On June 23, 1951, Mr. Wilthew and the former Vilma Marie Luteran were married in St. Joseph Church in Youngstown.
