Softball tourney to benefit charity

AUSTINTOWN

A Way With Words Foundation will have its second annual charity softball tournament Aug. 28 at Austintown Township Park on Kirk Road. The cost is $220 per team (maximum 13 players) or $20 per person. The random-draw, double-elimination, slow-pitch tourney is for age 15 and up. Children under 15 will play in a youth game. Fee includes T-shirt and raffle tickets. Registration is at 9 a.m. with games starting at 10 a.m. The pavilions will be reserved for picnic lunches, and hot dogs and chips will be provided. Co-ed teams are permitted. Columbiana fair box office to open

LISBON

The Columbiana County Fair office at the fairgrounds in Lisbon will open July 11 with daily hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday; closed Sunday).

All grandstand reserved seating tickets can be purchased at the office for $5, including truck and tractor pulls and demolition derbies. General admission tickets (7 for $30), which do not include rides, can also be purchased.
