Suspect in Ark. death arrested in Liberty

CONWAY, Ark.

Authorities say a Conway man who went missing just before his murder trial was to begin has been found in Liberty.

Conway Police Sgt. Chris Harris says 28-year-old Karon Mohammed was arrested early Saturday by local police and U.S. marshals.

Mohammed is being held at the Trumbull County Jail.

Liberty Police Sgt. Michael Janovick says Mohammed was unarmed.

Mohammed’s murder trial had been set to start Thursday in Garland County.

He’s charged in the 2009 shooting death of Sean Robinson in Hot Springs. Mohammed has said he killed Robinson in self-defense.
