General Motors Co.’s Lordstown facility will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 28.
Those interested need to register by visiting any of the 18 Chevrolet All-Star dealerships in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
Those who attend will have a chance to win a new Chevrolet Cruze.

July 9 seminar time changed to 10 a.m.

The Youngstown State University chapter of SCORE, Counselors to America’s Small Business, has partnered with the Business & Investment Center of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County to present a business start-up seminar.
The seminar will take place beginning at 10 a.m. (one hour later than previously reported) July 9 at the library’s Poland branch, 311 South Main St.
It will address key topics for those considering starting a business and will cover marketing and financial plans and the technology needed to run a business. Librarians will discuss the library’s resources as it pertains to start-up businesses.

Chamber will host handbook seminar

The Youngstown/ Warren Regional Chamber announced a seminar for businesses on how to assemble a well-written employee handbook.
The event, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at Avalon Inn, 9519 E. Market St., will explain how an employee handbook is not only a recruiting tool, but also acts as a legal document.
Attys. Timothy Jacob and Joseph Young of Manchester, Bennett, Powers & Ullman will lead the seminar. Advance reservations, which cost $20 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers, are required by Aug. 11.
