GARDEN CLUBS


TUESDAY

Ikebana Youngstown will meet at 9 a.m. for 2 Ichiyo school lessons with Shirley Winkler as instructor. Instruction sheets will be provided. This class is an extra lesson.

WEDNESDAY

Mahoning will meet at noon in the Kidston Classroom at the Davis Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens. Take a low-waste lunch (reusable dishes, Tupperware reusable lunch box, a reusable drink container, travel mug for coffee and cloth napkins). The most reusable lunch will win a prize. The program will be “The Three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” presented by Kim Lewis of the Green Team. Hostesses will be Laura Mastro and Mary Ann Anderson.

UPCOMING

Daisy Dozen’s meeting will precede a tropical paradise themed program July 20 at The Culinary Arts Center, 429 McClurg Road, Boardman. The meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m., and the program, at 6:30. Master mixologist Geno Merolla will teach the group how to make several tropical drinks. Chef Mark Canzonetta will cook and demonstrate a dinner including Ono ribs, fried plantains, tomato and mango bruschetta, crab arapes and dessert. The event, hosted by Ginnie Kernan and Carol Rodgers, costs $45. Make checks payable to The Culinary Arts Center and mail to Kernan no later than Wednesday. Places are being held for the club.

Garden club events are published Sunday. Please submit information to the Society Department by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
