Free swimming planned in Hubbard

HUBBARD

Hubbard Community Pool, 250 Hall Ave., is having its 7th annual Summer Sizzler at the pool from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday.

There will be free swimming for everyone, a large basket auction, baskets, children’s items and more. Food will be $1, including rigatoni and meatballs, nachos and cheese, hot dogs, pizza and ice cream.

Money raised will be used for pool improvements.

Church will host strawberry social

WARREN

Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., will host its 60th Annual Strawberry Social from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The tradition began even before the church was built, when during construction Belvedere Avenue was blocked off for the social. The la carte menu features hot dogs, chili dogs, sloppy joes, homemade potato salad, cakes and pies, ice cream, strawberries, coffee, tea and pop. Takeouts also will be available.

The event takes place indoors. Proceeds will go toward repair of the roof over the educational wing of the building. For more information call the church at 330-372-1616 from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Class year corrected for Campbell meeting

LOWELLVILLE

Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1950 will meet at noon Wednesday at Bedford Trails, where a picnic will be discussed. The wrong class year, 1958, was published in the Club Calendar on Friday.
