“Community Connection” (7 a.m. Sunday on 21 WFMJ-TV; and 10 a.m. Tuesday on Time Warner Cable community access channel): The Fish Samaritan House helps the community by providing clothing, food and emergency services to those in need. Board members Dr. B.J. Tate, Cassandra Campean and Clarence Thigpen, director, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the organization. The Fish Samaritan House also picks up gently used items from those willing to donate.

Next, Jere B. of jazz ensemble SounDoctrine and Niayana Recordings, will discuss the Youngstown Jazz Fest, a free event next Saturday in the Smoky Hollow area of Youngstown. Phillip K. Jones II will perform at the jazz fest and on the show.

“Increase the Peace” (6:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday on MyYTV): Host Andrea Mahone’s guest will be Apostle C M. Jenkins, who will discuss the July 8-10 Tent Revival at Grace Evangelistic Temple Church.

Dog-rescue group plans hike, wash

LORDSTOWN

The inaugural Hike and Splash, sponsored by For the Dogs Animal Rescue and Broadview Acres Country Canine Resort, will be July 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 419 Salt Springs Road.

Dogs must be leashed at all times, current on vaccinations and handled by an adult.

There is a registration fee of $15 for the one-mile hike, which starts at 10 a.m., with a dog wash beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dogs can receive a bath for $10 or $15. There also will be vendors, a basket auction and a variety of raffles.
