Taylor-Gavin wedding date is announced

Mr. and Mrs. John Spiese of Salem, Dan Taylor of Warren and Mr. and Mrs. George Gavin of Umatilla, Fla., are announcing the engagement of their children, Julie Taylor of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and John Gavin of Umatilla.

The couple have planned a wedding for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at New Life Church in Poland. An evening reception will take place at The Georgetown in Boardman.

The bride-to-be graduated magna cum laude from Southeastern University with a degree in premed/biology. She attends Nova Southeastern University, studying for her master’s degree in medical science in physician-assistant studies.

The prospective groom graduated summa cum laude from Southeastern with a double major in business management/international business. He is employed as a manager’s assistant for Hertz Rentals in The Villages, Fla.
