South Side man shot in arm

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating a South Side shooting in which a 22-year-old man was wounded in his arm Saturday. Police said the man told officers he was visiting his girlfriend on Cooper Street when he walked away from the house and was shot around 6 p.m. The man told police he did not see anything and had no description of who shot him, reports state.

A neighbor told police he saw a black late model Pontiac Grand Prix flee the scene east on Cooper, but was unsure if it was related to the earlier sound of a gun shot, according to reports. The 22-year-old man was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center where a nursing supervisor said there was no record of his being admitted.
