Grace Church of Columbiana, 140 S. Main St., will present a service of all patriotic music at 10 a.m. Sunday. The morning message will include the reading of the Declaration of Independence. Casual dress is encouraged.
Interfaith service

The Wick Avenue area churches and schools invite the community to an interfaith worship service at 10 a.m. July 10 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., where the Rev. Dr. Bradley Pace is rector.
Dr. Cynthia Anderson, president of Youngstown State University, will preach.
Other participants will be Butler Memorial Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, Oak Baptist Church and Ursuline High School.
A reception will follow.

Organ recital

St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., will host an organ recital at 2:30 p.m. July 10 by David Jaronowski.
He will present works by Bach, Guilmont and Mendelssohn.
Jaronowski attended Cleveland State University, studying organ and voice.
He is director of music and organist at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Cleveland, and has had positions in other Cleveland area churches and in Kansas City, Mo.
Jaronowski is a colleague of the American Guild of Organists.
A free-will offering will be accepted.
Methodist meeting

The 89th annual meeting of the Tri-State Free Methodist Camp, 1027 Anderson Boulevard, will be Thursday through July 17.
The Rev. Bryce Grieco of Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church in Wellsburg, W.Va., is this year’s evangelist.
Katie Bartlett, who just returned to the United States, will speak about her missionary experiences in Malawi, a small country in southeastern Africa. Shortly after arriving in December 2008, her husband, Ryan Bartlett, was killed in a car accident. The family includes three daughters.
The Free Methodist Church has ministry in 81 countries worldwide.
Evening services begin at 7 p.m.
This year marks some milestones for the camp in general, significant improvements to the grounds and special events.
It is the 90th anniversary of the last camp held off site.
This year also completes a two-year roofing project on the wood-frame tabernacle built in 1926.
The camp, a member of the Arbor Day Foundation, will havr a memorial tree- planting ceremony.

Crossing Paths TV Ministry will have its annual weekend retreat July 29-31 at Shiloh Ranch, Cook Forest State Park.

Woodland walks

In honor of the 2011 U.N. International Year of Forests, four seasonal woodland walks for families will be at Villa Maria Education & Spirituality Center.
The walks will include kid-friendly activities and a take-home project. Dates are either July 10 or 14 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Sister Jeanne Thurin, environmental education program associate, will lead the walks, which will be followed by a craft project.
Cost is $2 per person (adult and child) or $5 per family (more than 2) and includes program materials.

Bishop George V. Murry has appointed the Rev. Stephen Agostino as administrator of the University Parish Newman Center in Kent, effective Aug. 1.
The Rev. Christopher Luoni, current pastor and part-time diocesan vocations director, is appointed full-time vocations director for the Diocese of Youngstown.
Father Agostino was ordained June 12, 1993, for the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). He completed seminary studies at Weston School of Theology in Cambridge, Mass. He began service in the diocese of Youngstown in 2008, serving as associate pastor at St. Rose Parish in Girard and St. Joan of Arc Parish in Canton. He also served as chaplain at Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
Father Luoni, ordained May 28, 2005, completed seminary studies at Mount St. Mary Seminary in Cincinnati. He served as associate pastor at Holy Family Parish in Poland before being named pastor at University Parish Newman Center in Kent. Father Luoni also served as diocesan director of campus ministry, and as a member of the diocesan priests’ retirement board.

Igniting New Life Ministries will host a community event, “Eat, Sing and Pray,” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 9 at the Ex-Soldiers and Sailors Pavilion in Boardman Park on Route 224.
There will be free food, music, clowns, face painting and balloons.
The Youngstown Chapter of Igniting New Life Ministries International is an inter-denominational ministry.
Land retreat
VILLA MARIA, Pa.
Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will present “Villa Land Retreat: The Spirit of the Land” from Aug. 16-20.
Facilitators include Sister Barbara O’Donnell, eco-spirituality associate, and Frank Romeo, director of land management emeritus at Villa.
