MONACA, Pa.

Emergency responders freed a man whose arm had been trapped in an underground conveyor belt at an industrial site.

Officials in Beaver County say the man’s arm became pinned shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday at Colona River Service in Monaca.

Firefighters said the victim was loading limestone onto a conveyor belt when his arm was trapped. More than six rescue crews worked for more than two hours and managed to free the man shortly after 6:30 a.m. He was taken to UPMC Mercy, where his condition was not immediately available.
