Surprise party honors Dunlaps for golden year

Mr. and Mrs. William J. Dunlap, of Boardman, were honored Jan. 14 for their 50th anniversary with a surprise party that included family and friends.

Invitations were extended to guests for the evening sit-down dinner at the Springfield Grill.

Hosts of the celebration were the couple’s children and grandchildren. Their children are Judianne Dunlap of Canfield; John Dunlap of Boardman; and Mary Frances and Michael Popovich of Bartlett, Ill. The couple’s grandchildren are Kaitlyn Popovich and Courtney Popovich.

Mrs. Dunlap retired in 2002 from McHenry Community College in McHenry, Ill., where she worked in human resources.

Mr. Dunlap retired in 2006 from Exxon Mobil in Arlington Heights, Ill., where he was a transport driver. He is a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

The Dunlaps are members of St. Charles Church.

Mr. Dunlap and the former Patricia Morrison were united in marriage on Feb. 11, 1961, at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.
