SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced


55-Plus Club of Mineral Ridge will meet at 12:30 Tuesday at St. Mary Church. Hostesses will be Helen Lang and Mary Alice Seaborn. After the meeting and card games, members will dine out. Contact Bob Picken at 330-652-6020 for information about joining.

Ajax Magnethermic Retirees will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vernon’s Cafe in Niles for a Valentine’s Day luncheon. Spouses and guests are welcome.

Girard Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the center, 16 N. State St. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and bingo will be played. Membership dues for 2011 will be collected.

Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet for their monthly meeting at noon Friday in the Lowellville City Hall conference room. A macaroni and meatball lunch will be served. Call Janet Davanzo at 330-793-3176 for reservations or cancellations. February birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged. Members are asked to take a donation for a gift basket to be presented to shut-in members. Bingo will follow the meeting. Membership is open, and anyone over 55 is invited to join. Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Marilyn Boggs will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. St. Nicholas Senior Citizens will have a luncheon meeting at 11 a.m. Feb. 8 in Great Hall. Laverne Cox will preside, and dues of $5 are payable. Reservations are required and can be made until Wednesday by mailing a check for $8 payable to St. Nicholas Seniors to Lora Opsitnik, 138 Iroquois St., Struthers, OH 44471. All seniors are welcome to join.

Sts. Cyril and Methodius Seniors will meet following the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Feb. 10 at the social hall, 252 E. Wood St., Youngstown. There will be a noon luncheon, birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and bingo will be played. Reservations are required by Feb. 8 and can be made by calling Jack Ziemianski at 330-782-1848.

YSU Freetimers will have a breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s Restaurant on Route 224 in Boardman. All retirees and friends are welcome.
