Oakland reveals lineup for next theater season

The Oakland Center for the Arts will mark 25 years of theater with its 2011-12 theater season. The theater at 220 W. Boardman St., downtown, will kick off the season with a free anniversary open house at 6 p.m. Aug. 19. The season is as follows:

“Side Show,” Sept. 9-24, directed by Robert Dennick Joki.

“Kimberly Akimbo,” Nov. 4-19, directed by Cleric Costes.

“How the Drag Queen Stole Christmas,” Dec. 2-10, written and directed by Robert Dennick Joki.

“In the Next Room,” Feb. 3-18, directed by Tom Smith.

“Distracted,” March 16-31 directed by Sam Luptak Jr.

“Evil Dead: The Musical,” April 27-May 12, directed by Robert Dennick Joki.

“Last Summer at Bluefish Cove,” June 8-23, directed by Christopher Fidram.
