CANFIELD

Mahoning County Medical Society Alliance will host its seventh annual Champagne Brunch and Fashion Show on Feb. 25 at Avion on the Water, 2177 S. Western Reserve Road.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Garden of Hope at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, Boardman.

There will be a social and basket auction at 10 a.m. and a champagne brunch at 11. La Ti Da Boutique will present a style show, and 850 Blues and Coldwater Creek will show the latest apparel and accessories. Hairstyles and makeup will be by Concepts Salon and Spa.

The cost for the event is $30 per person, and tables for up to 10 can be reserved. Reservations can be made until Feb. 15 by calling 330-533-4880 or sending a check, payable to MCMSA, to the organization at 536 E. Main St., Suite 220-A, Canfield OH 44406.

Arrangements for the fundraiser are being made by Shelly Barton and Tammy Engle, cochairwomen, and Susan Berny, Cassi Calderon, Gloria Detesco, Donna Hayat, Paula Jakubek, Tricia Potesta, Carol Sankovic and Susan Yarab, committee members.

The Garden of Hope is unique outdoor space in the enclosed courtyard area at Akron Children’s Hospital Beeghly Campus. Its purpose is to provide patients, families and others a comforting place to visit and find solace in a tranquil environment.

The Garden of Hope offers naming opportunities, including brick pavers, inscribed as the donor wishes, in honor of a special child, loved one, friend, nurse, physician or caregiver.

The MCMSA has donated $15,700 toward a pledge of $22,500 for the garden.
