Pleads innocent

WARREN

Michelle “Niki” Frenchko, a onetime candidate for Trumbull County commissioner, pleaded innocent Thursday in Warren Municipal Court to misdemeanor domestic violence involving a child. Frenchko, 36, of Mulberry Avenue Northwest, was released Thursday from the Trumbull County Jail after signing for a $5,000 personal- recognizance bond.

A police report said the child told police that Frenchko struck her with her hand, threw a bottle of sleeping pills at her and grabbed the child and “slammed her head against a doorway, causing a noticeable bump on her forehead.”

Frenchko lost in the November 2006 general election to Frank Fuda in the race for county commissioner.

Restaurant damaged

new castle, pa.

A tractor-trailer pulled wires down and damaged the exterior of Mister B’s Restaurant on East Washington Street. Shenango Township police said the driver, Antawn Quvadus Cook, 34, of Gardendale, Ala., missed his turn and was trying to turn around in the restaurant parking lot Thursday morning.

The trailer caught the wires leading from the transformer on the utility pole and pulled down the electrical mast, meter box and parts of the building’s fa ßade. Cook then continued to try to turn around and got stuck on the lawn of a house behind the restaurant, police said. The electric company had to turn off the power.
