Shoe Show store opens in Liberty

Shoe Show Inc., with corporate headquarters and a distribution center in Concord, N.C., recently opened a store at 3551 Belmont Ave., Suite 5, in the Liberty Plaza. The store brings the number in the chain to 1,108.

The 4,210-square-foot store in the township offers footwear for men, women and children along with accessories and handbags. The store has a selection of branded athletic styles by Reebok, Nike, New Balance and Skechers. Dress, casuals, boots and sandals are by Aerosoles, Clarks, Columbia, Easy Spirit, Florsheim, Liz Claiborne, Nine West, Rockport, Rocky Boots, Steve Madden, Timberland and Tommy Hilfiger.

Store manager is Karen Houck, and district manager is Guenter Metzger.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Robert B. Tucker opened the first Shoe Show 50 years ago; he ran the store with help from his wife and one part-time employee. Now, the company has more than 7,900 employees and stores in 36 states.

The company has grown through acquisitions of companies such as Burlington Shoes in 1986, Altier Shoes in 1993, more than 80 Pic N’ Pay leases in 2000, Shoebilee / El Bee Shoes chain in 2002 and six Just for Feet stores in 2004.
