Kent State routs Miami (Ohio)

Randal Holt scored 22 points on 6-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc and Kent State pulled away from Miami (Ohio) 78-57 on Sunday.

The Golden Flashes (12-7, 3-2 Mid-American Conference) trailed 22-18 after a jumper from Nick Winbush with 8:59 remaining in the opening half. Holt answered with a 3-pointer, sparking a 15-0 run for Kent State, which was aided by seven Miami turnovers.

Winbush finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds, Chris McHenry added 13 points and Orlando Williams 12 for Miami.

E. Michigan 41, Cent. Michigan 38

YPSILANTI, Mich.

Derek Thompson and Darrell Lampley scored 11 points each and Eastern Michigan (5-13, 2-3 Mid-American) posted its lowest point total of the season, yet it was enough to win. Trey Zeigler led Central Michigan with 13 points but missed a tying 3-pointer at the buzzer.

IOWA CITY, Iowa

Freshman Melsahn Basabe scored 20 points, Matt Gatens added 19 and Iowa snapped a six-game losing streak by drilling Indiana 91-77. Freshman Devyn Marble scored a career-high 18 for the Hawkeyes (8-11, 1-6 Big Ten), who picked up their first league win by dominating a Hoosiers team playing without Verdell Jones III. Jones, who has started 17 games this season and is averaging 12.9 points, is out indefinitely with inflammation in his right knee.

Christian Watford had a career-high 30 points to lead the Hoosiers (10-10, 1-6).

No. 18 Wisconsin 78, Northwestern 46

EVANSTON, Ill.

Jon Leuer scored 19 points to lead a balanced attack for Wisconsin. Keaton Nankivil had 16 points and Jordan Taylor added 14 as the Badgers (15-4, 5-2 Big Ten) won their third straight game. Wisconsin freshman Josh Gasser had a triple-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. John Shurna and Luka Mirkovic scored 13 points apiece for the Wildcats (13-6, 3-5).

VALPARAISO, Ind.

Alec Brown scored 15 points and Wisconsin-Green Bay beat Valparaiso 63-61. Jarvis Williams and Rahmon Fletcher each added 10 points for the Phoenix (11-10, 5-4 Horizon), who have won five of six and ended the Crusaders’ five-game winning streak. Cory Johnson led Valparaiso (15-6, 7-2) with 17 points.

Milwaukee 86, Butler 80, OT

INDIANAPOLIS

Anthony Hill scored 18 points and Tone Boyle led the way in overtime as Milwaukee completed a season sweep of Butler. Boyle sent the game into OT, then scored eight of his 15 points in the extra period to help the Panthers (10-11, 5-5 Horizon) end the Bulldogs’ 15-game conference winning streak at home. Shelvin Mack scored 23 points and Matt Howard finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds for Butler (14-7, 6-3).
