The Detroit Symphony Orchestra and its striking musicians have returned to the bargaining table.

The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press report that talks resumed Sunday and that the musicians had submitted another proposal Saturday.

The strike began Oct. 4 and has forced the nationally recognized symphony to cancel all of its performances.

Musicians have been putting on independent concerts.

Symphony officials claim the organization finished last year with an $8.8 million deficit.
