Howland Middle gets 1st in prep bowl

The Trumbull County Educational Service Center completed its annual Elementary Prep Bowl competition.
This academic competition engaged students in various grade levels in a contest to answer questions from all areas of study. The competition was at the Trumbull Career & Technical Center and took place over two evenings.
Howland Middle School won the elementary competition. Members of the team were: Katie Otney, captain; Austin White, Emily Wagner, Mickey McIntyre, Sam Mattern and Austin Watson. Sara Buzulencia was the coach.
Hubbard Reed Middle School was the runner-up for the elementary competition. Members of the team were: Jonathan Feigert, captain; Connor Harding, Henry Meckler, Nick Adduci, Skylar Ladig and Jessica Wylie. Tracy Hoover coached the team.
The Trumbull County Educational Service Center provides educational leadership and instruction in the areas of school improvement, special education and STEM education.
The center employs more than 200 teachers, therapists, psychologists, educational assistants and other specialists who work directly with approximately 3,500 students in 20 school districts.
TCESC also conducts professional-growth seminars for about 2,000 teachers each year.
