Goo Goo Dolls set concert at Covelli

The Goo Goo Dolls will come to Covelli Centre for a 7 p.m. concert April 12.

Tickets are $29.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 28 at the Covelli box office, online at ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, and by phone at 1-800-745-3000 (additional fees may apply).

Penguin Productions, a student group at Youngstown State University, is involved in promoting the concert, and will offer specially-priced student tickets. Penguin Productions provides experience in the live entertainment industry and provides the student population with large-scale events. Past Penguin Productions events include concerts by Augustana, Ludacris, Sugarland, Danity Kane, Josh Kelley, Ryan Cabrera, Matt Nathanson and Third Eye Blind.

The Goo Goo Dolls, formed in 1986, has garnered 14 top-10 singles including “Name,” “Iris,” “Slide,” “Black Balloon” and “Here is Gone.” The alternative-rock group recently released its ninth studio album, “Something for the Rest of Us.”
