A Way With Words Foundation scavenger hunt begins Saturday

A Way With Words Foundation Inc. will kick off its first “You Are Here” scavenger hunt at noon today at the AwwwMazing Place store in the Eastwood Mall, where the event will end at noon Feb. 12.

Proceeds from the hunt will benefit the ROCcK Children’s Choir scholarship fund.

The participation fee of $5 can be submitted at any time during the event or when the hunt ends. The winner of the hunt will receive a trophy and other prizes. If two or more people team up, the fee is $5 per person, and only one trophy will be awarded for first place.

A list of items to be sought during the hunt can be downloaded from the website www.awaywithwordsfoundation.org.

At the end of the hunt volunteers will count and separate the items. Food items will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank, and personal hygiene items will be included in care packages for the USO to send to military bases. Message shirts will be displayed at the store, and following voting, the winning message will be reproduced on shirts to be sold at the store as a cancer benefit.

Corporate sponsors will become lifetime angels for most children. Donations of any denomination are welcome and will establish the scholarship fund. Checks should be made payable to A Way With Words Foundation School Fund.
