Dr. Mark Billy will lead Corydon Palmer society

Today, Dr. Mark Billy will begin a one-year term as president of the Corydon Palmer Dental Society. An installation ceremony took place at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. He succeeds Dr. Lee Snelson of Warren.

Dr. Billy is a partner in Mill Creek Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in Austintown and Boardman. He graduated from Youngstown State and the Ohio State Universities. He served his residence with the U.S. Army Dental Activity at Fort Carson, Colo., during a term of decorated miltiary service that ranged from 1986 to 1992 and included service as a general dental officer in Germany and at Fort Meade in Carlisle, Pa.

At the MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, he served another residence and earned a certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Billy is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the National Board of Dental Examiners, and the Northeast Regional Board of dental examiners.

He is an active staff member at Northside Medical Center, where he is chairman of the Department of Dentistry and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery; at St. Elizabeth Health Centers in Youngstown and Boardman; and the Surgery Center at Southwoods in Boardman.

Dr. Billy also served on the teaching faculties at Western Reserve/Forum Health Care System and St. Elizabeth Health Center general practice residency programs.

He became secretary of Corydon Palmer in 2008, and he also is the society’s liaison to the Mahoning County Medical Society.
