Poland Village board to address Cocca’s move

POLAND

The Village Architectural Review Board will have a special meeting Wednesday evening to address Cocca’s Pizza, which is moving into 18 E. McKinley Way.

The building is the former home of Bruster’s Ice Cream, which built the 1,196-square-foot structure in 2000 and closed it around 2005. Since then, it has been vacant, said zoning inspector Richard N. Ames.

The location already has been zoned commercial, but the board will review the proposed sign and building-design plans, which mostly are interior changes, Ames said.

The board had an informational meeting about the incoming business last week.

Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 308 S. Main St.

Stefano and Antonietta Cocca purchased the building Dec. 30, according to the Mahoning County Auditor’s website.

Cocca’s Pizza already has several locations in the Valley, including one at 7185 Market St., Boardman.
