For the Dogs is inviting the public to a wine tasting and basket auction from 3 to 5 p.m. Jan. 30 at Vintage Estate Wine and Beer, 7317 South Ave. The event will raise funds to continue rescuing dogs from the Mahoning County Dog Pound. Tickets are $20 per person and include six pours of wine plus light appetizers. Only 100 tickets will be sold. None will be sold at the door.

The Trumbull County Calendar of Events, which includes listings submitted by local organizations, is available at the Tourism Bureau Office, 321 Mahoning Ave. NW. They can also be requested by e-mail at Info@ExploreTrumbullCounty.com or by calling 330-675-3081.

The brochure contains event listings for the months of January through June. In early May, production will begin on a brochure, which will cover events taking place from June through December. The calendar of events will be mailed out with each Visitors Guide in response to visitor information requests and will be distributed at state-operated travel information centers and travel industry shows.

Spa plans benefit

AUSTINTOWN

The Escape Salon and Spa, 1570 S. Canfield Niles Road, Building A, will sponsor a benefit from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 29 to support Valerie Long Boston. Featured will be a morning bake sale of muffins, coffee and tea; an all day bake sale of homemade pies, cakes and cookies with refreshments; a basket auction and 50-50 raffle. Twenty percent of all services and gift card purchases will go to the fund. Checks should be made payable to the Valerie Boston Benefit Fund, and donations are being accepted at all Farmers National Bank locations.
