Garden experts to conduct seminar at Riverside Gardens

The Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown and Fellows Riverside Gardens will sponsor a winter seminar, “Gardening on the Sunny Side,” from 9:15 am. to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 at Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek MetroParks, 123 McKinley Ave.

Three garden experts will share information on what is new in gardening. The informative topics will include the following:

Best Foot Forward: Ideas for Entrance Gardens

Great Plants and Plant Combinations: The best of the best perennials, trees and shrubs

Trees and Shrubs for a Small Space

Cool New Plants and They’re All Winners.

Conducting various segments of the seminar will be garden designer and writer Janet Macunovich, who has been planting, designing and maintaining gardens and landscapes for more than 20 years; Steven Nikkila, horticultural photographer, who has served as senior instructor for Michigan School of Gardening; and John Gaydos, who has 40 years of experience in the nursery industry.

Registration will be from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m.

The symposium fee of $40 includes seminar materials, continental breakfast, lunch and door prizes.

Late registration will be accepted after Jan. 30 if space is available.

The late fee will be $50.
