EEOC mobile unit sets complaint dates

YOUNGSTOWN
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s mobile-outreach center will visit the Youngstown unit of the NAACP on the fourth Friday of each month this year.
The mobile center will accept complaints of employment discrimination based on race, religion, sex, natural origin, age (40 and older), disability or retaliation.
The EEOC describes retaliation as a worker who complained about job discrimination, gave evidence in a job discrimination matter or who filed a charge of job discrimination with the commission and was fired.
The alleged discriminatory acts must have occurred within 300 days of the filing date.
The filings will be by appointment only at the local unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, 3119 Market St., Suite 217. Contact the office at 330-782-9777 or by e-mail at naacpyoungstown@yahoo.com to schedule an appointment.
The complaint filing dates are Jan. 28, Feb. 25, March 25, April 22, May 20, June 24, July 22, Aug. 26, Sept. 23, Oct. 28, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.
