BOARDMAN

After searching nearby apartment buildings and a bus, police still are looking for a suspect who stole more than $5,000 from First National Bank on Market Street.

Officers were called to First National Bank at 7025 Market St., just north of U.S. Route 224, after a man walked into the building around 10 a.m. Thursday, said he had a weapon and demanded cash, according to reports.

Police said the man left through the front door with $5,696 in a plastic bag and ran north, but his footprints stopped behind the rear lot of 11 Woodview Ave.

The man was described by police as very tall, thin and white wearing a black coat and black ski mask with white around the edges of the eyes.

Beaver Township police stopped a Western Reserve Transit Authority Bus on Market Street, south of Western Reserve Road, to see if the suspect was on board, but no one matched the description, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Boardman police at 330-726-4144.
