GOP chief Michael Steele trails challenger


OXON HILL, Md. (AP) — A challenger to GOP Chairman Michael Steele has lengthened his lead in balloting for the leadership of the Republican National Committee.

However, neither Steele nor any of his four challengers have dropped out.

After two rounds, Steele was losing ground to the top vote-getter, Reince Priebus. the Wisconsin Republican Party chairman who got 52 votes in the latest round, while Steele got 37. Maria Cino got 30, followed by Ann Wagner and Saul Anuzis.
