Sewers and singers asked to volunteer

Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center is seeking volunteers to help with projects to make life a little brighter for senior citizens in the area.

Anyone who can sew, or just has a desire to learn, is invited to join a sewing group. The group meets at 1 p.m. each Monday at the center to make lap robes and walker caddies for residents at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home.

Singers are needed to round out a choir, which entertains residents at Briarfield at the Ridge once each month. The group also performs at the center and whenever needed at community events. Practice is at 1 p.m. each Friday.

Anyone interested in being a volunteer is asked to call the center at 330-544-3676 or just stop in to sew or sing.
