A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
Dec. 31
Harassment: A woman in the 2300 block of Lyon Boulevard filed a report.
Identity theft: A Candywoods Drive woman discovered $2,471 missing from her credit-card account.
Arrest: A traffic stop in the 3100 block of Center Road led to the arrest of 20-year-old Ryan M. Upchurch, 83 S. Pricetown Road, Diamond, on charges of driving under suspension and offenses involving underage people.
Jan. 2
Harassment: A man in the 6400 block of Struthers Road reported having been harassed.
Aggravated menacing: A Quarry Road woman told police a friend had made various threats against her.
Jan. 4
Harassment: A woman in the 6500 block of Roselynn Place filed a report.
Jan. 6
Theft: An employee with Allied Waste Services, 8100 State Line Road, reported the theft of 40 feet each of electrical wire and metal conduit material.
BOARDMAN
Jan. 6
Domestic violence: Anthony J. Walker, 34, of 540 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, faced charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest after his fiancee alleged Walker had punched her in the ribs and face, then slammed her head into a bed frame during an argument. He also refused to allow police into the apartment, they said.
Harassment: A Lemans Drive woman said a neighbor sent four vulgar text messages.
Theft: A woman reported a $300 MP3 player stolen from her purse in the 800 block of Kentwood Drive.
Aggravated menacing: A Nevada Avenue man told officers his former girlfriend called threatening to harm and kill him.
Jan. 7
Criminal damaging: A fence-lock mechanism sustained $200 in damage in the 700 block of Indianola Road.
Assault: Marc Ruess, 19, of 1204 Salt Springs Road, Mineral Ridge, surrendered to authorities and was charged after a Glenwood Avenue man suffered several injuries during a December assault at his residence.
Assault: Officers stopped a car in the 5300 block of Market Street, where they took into custody 39-year-old Luz E. Fragosa-Franklin, 67 S. Fruit St., Youngstown, who was wanted by city authorities on a warrant.
Theft: Michael R. Rosier, 33, of 2813 Beck St., Warren, was accused in the theft of 20 DVDs from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.
Arrest: Officers charged 55-year-old Gary E. Mott, 3241 Estates Circle, Youngstown, with criminal child enticement, a first-degree misdemeanor, after four 12-year-old girls alleged Mott had tried to lure them into his vehicle as they left a township movie theater.
Menacing: A worker for a Southern Boulevard business said a former employee harassed and made implied threats toward her.
Jan. 8
Domestic violence: Police signed a charge against a man, no information provided, after a Lemans Drive woman reported having been punched in the head and dragged by her hair.
Theft: A city girl, 17, was charged after three jewelry items were stolen from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. She was released to the custody of an uncle.
Theft: Stacey L. Stauffer, 23, of 107 Hickory Lane SW, Warren, and 37-year-old Joseph Profanchek Jr., 326 W. State St., Niles, were charged in the theft of a pair of blue jeans and a sweat shirt from the JCPenney store in the Southern Park Mall.
Assault: Lisa A. Kupecv, 48, of 4482 Green Garden Drive, Boardman, was charged after police responded to a disturbance at the home. A man alleged an enraged Kupec had pushed him after he shut off a breaker when she continually played loud music.
Theft/drug paraphernalia: Jason M. Mulgrew, 32, of 763 Fifth St., Struthers; Jolleen M. Boggs, 21, of 1320 W. Montrose St., Liberty; and Michael A. Faiola, 26, of 1650 Lynn Ave., Poland, faced theft and drug-related charges after two cell phones and a satellite radio were stolen from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. A syringe and suspected crack pipe were in their vehicle, police said.
Theft: Two Social Security cards were among property taken from a vehicle in the 600 block of Cook Avenue.
Harassment: A Youngstown woman at a Boardman-Poland Road store reported two females followed and made harassing statements to her.
Theft: A woman reported three or four purses, clothing and hats stolen at Brown’s Drugs, 5106 Southern Blvd.
Theft: Three gift cards and $60 were removed from a car in the 800 block of Mathews Road.
Jan. 9
Domestic violence: Andre M. Ballinger II, 21, of 81 Lemans Drive, Boardman, was charged with the crime after a woman alleged he had choked her during an argument. Ballinger also was wanted on three warrants, including a domestic-violence charge.
Arrest: Omar M. Shkokani, 33, of 7544 Market St., Boardman, was charged with obstructing official business and falsification after police said that, during a traffic stop, he provided false information related to his immigration and driving status.
Truck theft: A stolen GMC Sierra truck was in a crash near Southern and Midlothian boulevards.
Drugs: Montreal J. Moore, 18, of 489 Francisca Drive, Youngstown, was charged with two counts of drug abuse and one of possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled him over near Hillman Way. Found were a small quantity of suspected crack cocaine and a suspected marijuana cigarette, a report said.
Theft: A Youngstown woman reported her $300 MP3 player stolen while in the 80 block of Lemans Drive.
Assault: A man reported having been struck and punched several times during an argument with another driver near Cook and Evans avenues.
Harassment: A Colwyn Court woman told police her former husband has continually sent and made unwanted text messages and calls.
Burglary: Took place in the 100 block of Beechwood Drive through a side door, though nothing appeared to be missing.
Theft: A woman at a South Avenue motel noticed $180 missing from her room.
Jan. 10
Arrest: Police booked 25-year-old Jeffrey L. Anglin, 13823 Grant St., New Springfield, at the Mahoning County Jail. He was wanted on charges of receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card.
Drugs: A traffic stop on Market Street resulted in the arrest of 54-year-old Octavio Pagan, 6439 Diana Drive, Poland, on a felony charge of possession of drugs when, police said, they found a folded dollar bill with suspected cocaine inside.
