Kasich to create office to modernize Ohio Medicaid program
COLUMBUS (AP) — Gov. John Kasich plans to create through executive order a new office he says will lead an effort to modernize Ohio’s Medicaid program and help contain health-care costs.
The Republican plans to put Greg Moody in charge of the office, according to a news release obtained ahead of the announcement later today. Moody was executive assistant for health and human services under former Republican Gov. Bob Taft.
Kasich also will name Dr. Theodore Wymyslo as new state health director. Wymyslo has been a primary care physician for 30 years.
Plus, the governor is picking Bonnie Kantor — executive director of Pioneer Network — as director of aging. The organization’s focus is on long-term care of seniors.
