Dinner-show to honor Schiavoni

State Sen. Joe Schiavoni, D-33rd, will be honored at the 16th annual Spring Italian Dinner and Show on March 10 at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave. The event is sponsored by Ciao Promotions.

Entertainment will be provided by singer Christopher Macchio and comedian Uncle Floyd Vivino. Master of ceremonies will be Joe Naples.

Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at Trolio’s T-shirts in Poland or by calling 330-757-2779.

Discounts are available for seniors and groups of 16 or more.

Schiavoni was appointed to serve in the Ohio Senate in December 2009.

He is a partner at Schiavoni, Schiavoni, Bush and Muldowney law firm.

The senator is a graduate of Boardman High School and Ohio University.

He earned a juris doctorate from Capital University in Columbus.

Schiavoni is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, serving as co-chairman of the public-relations committee.

He is also legal counsel for the Youngstown-Warren chapter of the Legends of Leather national boxing organization.

His commitment to community involvement and youth merited his being named Big Brother of the Year in 2007 from Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Mahoning Valley.
