Bank robbery attempted in Boardman

BOARDMAN

First National Bank on Market Street, near the intersection of U.S. Route 224, was the scene of an attempted robbery about 10:10 a.m. today.

The suspect was described as a very tall, thin white male wearing a black coat and black ski mask with white around the edges of the eyes. He walked into the bank and said he had a weapon, although no one actually saw a weapon, police said. He left out the front door and ran north toward the south side of the Wagon Wheel motel.

Police are on the scene investigating.
