Tax collections up
SALEM
City Auditor James Armeni said the city has collected $3.9 million in city income tax so far for 2010. That’s an increase of 5.7 percent from the previous year.
Some 2010 payments, he added, may not have made it to city hall yet. Armeni said that the highest annual income tax collection in the city was $4 million in 2008.
The lowest collection during the past decade was $3.6 million in 2009.
